Cinco De Mayo in Charleston

Cinco de Mayo, celebrated on the 5th of May, is a vibrant and culturally rich holiday that commemorates the Mexican victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. While often mistaken for Mexico's Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16th, Cinco de Mayo holds significant historical and cultural importance, particularly in the state of Puebla, Mexico. Today, it has evolved into a widely celebrated occasion in Mexico and the United States, marked by lively parades, traditional music and dance performances, delicious Mexican cuisine, and vibrant festivities that honor Mexican heritage and unity. From colorful decorations to delicious dishes like tacos and margaritas, Cinco de Mayo is a joyful celebration of resilience, culture, and community
